Footsteps

In our group project we are going to need footsteps for a large animal.

I am interested in the indentation on the ground, the particles/debris as the foot impacts the ground and the interaction between the ground and the foot as it is lifted up. I am interested in the effects of different surfaces and conditions on foot prints and interactions with the ground.

Weight, speed, gait, type of animal will all effect footfall.

Research will involve wildlife documentaries, horse racing, dinosaur programmes/films like Walking with dinosaurs, Jurassic Park, Troll hunter, etc.

I will do primary research including filming of the effects of different terrain on footfall.
I will research the software I will use but it will probably be Houdini, Maya and After Effects.
